Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

The short version: NotchTerm does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. It has no analytics, no telemetry, and no account system. What happens in your terminal stays on your machine.

Who we are

NotchTerm is developed and distributed by GeceLabs. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at ysftrn@gmail.com.

Data we do not collect

NotchTerm does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

— Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
— Terminal commands, shell history, or output
— Usage statistics or analytics
— Crash reports
— Device identifiers or hardware information
— IP addresses or location data

The app runs entirely on your local machine. It does not make any network requests except for the single license validation call described below.

License validation

When you activate NotchTerm with a license key, the app makes a single request to Paddle's license verification API to confirm your key is valid. This request includes your license key and a machine identifier. No other data is sent.

Paddle processes this request on our behalf. You can read Paddle's privacy policy at paddle.com/legal/privacy.

Purchase data

When you purchase NotchTerm, the transaction is processed entirely by Paddle, who acts as the Merchant of Record. GeceLabs receives only a notification that a purchase was made, along with your email address so we can deliver your license key. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

Paddle may collect data necessary to process your payment and comply with legal requirements. Please refer to Paddle's privacy policy for details.

Local storage

NotchTerm stores the following information locally on your Mac, and only on your Mac:

— Your license key and activation status (in macOS UserDefaults)
— Your first launch date, used to manage the 7-day trial period
— Your preferences and configuration settings

This data never leaves your device except during the license validation call described above.

Third-party services

NotchTerm does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only third-party involved is Paddle, solely for payment processing and license verification.

Children's privacy

NotchTerm is a developer tool not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of NotchTerm after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
